Nasra Yusuff Left Heartbroken After Witnessing Desperate Water Crisis in Mandera East
The comedian says the suffering is worse than people imagine as residents fight over basic supplies and plead for urgent help.

Popular Kenyan comedian Nasra Yusuff has made an emotional appeal to Kenyans after witnessing the harsh reality of life in Mandera East, where many families are still struggling to access basic necessities like food and clean water.
During a recent visit to the remote community, Nasra said she was deeply shaken by the conditions residents are living in, describing the situation as heartbreaking and far worse than what many people imagine from afar.
“It is very sad that in 2026 there are still people crying for basic needs like water,” Nasra said while speaking about the experience.
The comedian questioned why a long-term solution has not yet been implemented to address the persistent food and water shortages affecting the region.
According to Nasra, even the relief supplies her team delivered were not enough to meet the overwhelming demand from residents.
“We have done the best that we can, but we still need more. Yani hata hatujascratch surface,” she said, explaining that the support they brought barely made a dent in the needs on the ground.
She revealed that locals told her that very few people or organizations visit the area, leaving them feeling forgotten.
In one of the most distressing moments during the visit, Nasra said she witnessed residents scrambling and fighting over the limited food supplies that had been delivered.
“I have seen people fighting over food and the few resources that we brought,” she recounted.
Nasra described the humanitarian situation as dire, saying many families are living in extremely difficult conditions with little hope of immediate relief.
“Watu wako kwa hali mbaya. Situation ni mbaya,” she said while urging Kenyans to step in and support the affected families.
The comedian is now calling on well-wishers across the country to donate whatever they can to help provide food and water to the struggling community.
She shared a donation number for those willing to help support the relief efforts.
“Kindly donate what you can via +254117588442 – Nasra Ahmed,” she appealed.
Her emotional message has sparked concern online, with many Kenyans calling for urgent intervention and sustainable solutions to address the recurring humanitarian challenges in northern Kenya.
