Xiaomi Unveils Vision Gran Turismo Electric Hypercar Concept at MWC 2026
At MWC 2026, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo — a futuristic electric hypercar concept built for the Gran Turismo franchise. Blending advanced aerodynamics with AI-powered intelligence, the company says further details about its arrival in Gran Turismo 7 will be announced soon.

Fresh off the global debut of the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi took the spotlight at Mobile World Congress 2026 to reveal something entirely unexpected — the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept.
Designed exclusively for the Gran Turismo franchise, the all-electric hypercar marks Xiaomi’s entry into the prestigious Vision Gran Turismo project — making it the first technology company ever to join the initiative.
Engineering Balance: Speed Meets Control
The collaboration traces back to 2025 at the GT World Series in London, where Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi personally invited Xiaomi to participate.
Approaching hypercar development from a tech-first mindset, Xiaomi’s EV team fused cutting-edge aerodynamics with AI-driven intelligence. Instead of choosing between ultra-low drag for straight-line speed or maximum downforce for cornering grip, Xiaomi engineered a balance of both.
The philosophy guiding the design is called “Sculpted by the Wind.” Rather than relying on exaggerated aerodynamic attachments, the car’s form itself manages airflow naturally and efficiently.

Teardrop Cockpit & Aerodynamic Architecture
At the heart of the design is a teardrop-shaped cockpit — a form chosen for optimal airflow efficiency. Every surface has been refined, and structural elements use airfoil cross-sections to enhance performance.
Strategically placed cutouts and air ducts integrate the cockpit within a larger aerodynamic system. Air enters from the front, flows seamlessly through sculpted channels, and exits at the rear, maintaining stability and performance at high speeds.
Xiaomi’s signature design identity is also present. Cross-shaped headlights blend seamlessly into the body while contributing to airflow performance, while a halo-style taillight is integrated into the rear’s large air outlet structure.
Performance by the Numbers
Extensive simulation testing resulted in impressive aerodynamic metrics:
- Drag coefficient: 0.29
- Downforce: -1.2
- Aerodynamic efficiency rating: 4.1
Each aerodynamic element serves a functional purpose — whether reducing drag or increasing downforce — reinforcing the car’s technology-driven DNA.
Interior: The “Sofa Racer” Experience
Inside, Xiaomi took an unconventional approach. Instead of a raw, race-only cockpit, the interior is designed to feel intelligent, warm, and comfortable — like racing on a sofa.
Dubbed the “Sofa Racer” concept, the dashboard, door panels, and seating form a continuous ring-shaped structure that wraps around the driver, creating a cocoon-like environment.
Xiaomi Pulse & HyperVision Integration
At the center of the cockpit sits Xiaomi Pulse, an intelligent in-car assistant embedded into the dashboard. Connected to sensors throughout the vehicle, it monitors surroundings and driver status, communicating through intuitive light and sound cues.
Complementing this is Xiaomi HyperVision, a reimagined interface built on Xiaomi HyperOS, which dynamically adapts based on driving mode.
Like the Xiaomi SU7 and Xiaomi YU7, the Vision Gran Turismo concept integrates seamlessly with Xiaomi’s broader ecosystem, including personal devices and XiaoAi AI assistant support.
With this debut, Xiaomi becomes the 36th brand to join the Vision Gran Turismo program and the creator of the project’s 51st concept vehicle.
Further announcements regarding the official arrival of Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo in Gran Turismo 7 are expected soon.
